I'm Shawna, and this is my mom, Debbie. We are so glad you found us! Our small business, Little Mamas, was created as a way for us to share our combined passion of crafting and love of quality handmade goods.
Here’s a little history behind us and our shop name, Little Mamas.
Little Mama #1 (Debbie) has been making handmade creations since the age of 12! From crochet to hand-painting home décor…you name it, she’s probably done it. She even owned a couple of brick-and-mortar stores across the Houston area for almost a decade (while raising 3 of her own little mamas). Since the arrival of her first grandchild in 2011, many of her makes are inspired from ideas for them. Debbie spends most of her creative energy focusing on crocheting and embroidering all the things.
Little Mama #2 (Shawna), eldest of Debbie's 3 little mamas, definitely picked up the creative gene and business drive from her Mom and Dad. She’s been a lover of all things creative, from crafting to food creations, since she was little (even helping her mom out in the shops). After having her son in 2013, Shawna started making handmade custom items for birthday parties, teachers gifts, and holiday favors for friends. With the arrival of her daughter in 2018, the expansion (or obsession some might say) for buying and making hair bows and headbands resulted in Little Mamas being born. Since having two kids and realizing all the outgrown clothing items that accumulate, she quickly realized the impact that fast fashion has on the environment, as being one of the top pollution offenders. Shawna primarily spends most of her time focusing on creating sustainable fashion/décor using repurposed and upcycled materials. Behind the scenes, she's also the chaos coordinator for Little Mamas business operations, website, and social media/marketing (don't forget to follow Little Mamas at @littlemamastx).
